Ordering a new design

This can be a satisfying and rewarding experience. A new handcrafted stained glass window will add Both character and value to your home, and will allow You to add your personal stamp on your property.

There are many factors to be considered when designing a leaded window. Most important is the light available to the window. This is affected by the orientation of the window and the environment such as buildings and trees.

Stronger lighting conditions allow for deeper colours. Soft lighting conditions require lighter, subtle coloured glass as a darker shade will block to much light and appear much darker than in bright light.

An experienced designer will visit you at your home and offer advice on period patterns and color choices. There is a wide choice of both and we strive to help you by recommending solutions to mach both your taste and budget.

Additional advice is also available about fitting and security. After this initial consultation we will draw up a colored cartoon and quotation based on your choices.

On approval the design moves to our workshop where a highly experienced craftsman will cut and build your window by hand, using traditional techniques and materials. This normally takes around 3 weeks.

We will arrange a time to fit your window around any other trades people you may have working on your property, such as builders, painters and decorators or carpenters.

Your new window will be fitted by a qualified and experienced glazer with the minimum of fuss, mess and inconvenience. This takes an hour per window on average but will vary depending on the glazing method employed.
